(Part-Time, Salaried, ROWE work environment, approximately 20-25 hours per week)

The Person

The ideal candidate will be competent in prioritizing work, a self-starter, and trustworthy. Attention to detail and excellent customer service skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have nonprofit experience, particularly in the areas of membership, volunteer management, fundraising, budgeting, and database management. Experience in QuickBooks, Canva, WordPress, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace preferred.

Job Details:

  • Grow and maintain South Huntsville Main Business Association (“SHMBA”) membership and sponsorship base.
  • Plan and execute monthly membership meetings and other membership events, including coordination of guest speakers, programs venues, equipment, and branding.
  • With collaboration from the Executive Director, assist with identifying and applying for grant and other funding opportunities.
  • Communicate regularly with members and sponsors to ensure member and sponsor benefits are being realized and expectations met; with the Executive Director, update membership and sponsorship benefits annually or as needed.
  • Plan and implement membership drives and membership recruitment activities.
  • Create, update, and distribute relevant information and materials to members and prospective members.
  • Invoice and collect annual membership dues (including renewals) and organizational sponsorship payments, keeping accurate records in QuickBooks.
  • Maintain required Main Street reporting data in Maestro and on the SHMBA website in collaboration with the City of Huntsville, SHMBA membership, and businesses in the SHMBA district.
  • Assist with SHMBA communications, including Main Street marketing requirements, website, social media (including membership spotlights), and newsletter content as needed.
  • Assist in coordinating the activities and implementing the work plans of the Main Street program committees and volunteers, ensuring that communication among committees is well-established.
  • Attend monthly Main Street Committee meetings and take meeting minutes.
  • Serve as administrative support, including support with monthly program planning and logistics, work plan implementation, member recruitment and retention, special events, and board/committee meetings.
  • Assist with annual budgeting process related to memberships and sponsorships and meet annual budget goals related thereto.
  • Support SHMBA community events as needed and requested.
  • Attend Main Street conferences and trainings, as needed and/or requested.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding South Huntsville Main Business Association business, to include potential new businesses and developments in the community.
  • Manage phone calls and other correspondence.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
