6th Annual Krampus 5K Run Returns to South Huntsville at Ditto Landing
Get ready to run from Krampus! The 6th Annual Krampus 5K Run returns to South Huntsville on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at Ditto Landing, 293 Ditto Landing Road SE, Huntsville, AL 35803.
The race begins at 10:00 a.m., with race-day registration and check-in beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The Krampus 5K offers a fun twist on the traditional holiday run, drawing inspiration from Austrian folklore and Huntsville’s German heritage.
In Alpine folklore, Krampus is a companion of St. Nicholas. While St. Nicholas rewards children who have been good, Krampus traditionally deals with those who have misbehaved. The Krampus 5K is a lighthearted take on the Krampus Lauf, or “Krampus Run,” a tradition in parts of Austria and other Alpine regions where participants dress as Krampus and take to the streets.
South Huntsville’s version turns the tradition into a fun and unique 5K run, bringing a little European folklore and holiday mischief to Ditto Landing.
